drs. Gert Muurling, MD, a medical expert in the field of international patient transfers, is the initiator of this website. He is consultant for anaesthesiology, intensive care medicine and emergency medicine. He had extensive postgraduate training in pain therapy and is certified in mass casualty management, travel medicine, altitude- and trekking medicine.

His air medical experience includes seven years of active helicopter emergency medical service, fixed wing critical care air ambulance transfers since the year 2000, and eight years being medical director for air ambulance companies.

He is physician adviser for several travel insurances, and was quality auditor for one of the international air medical accreditation associations for many years.

Since 2007 he works part time in a large teaching hospital in The Netherlands.
